Activating and Configuring CieID:

Before you can start using the CieID app, you need to activate your CIE credentials (levels 1 and 2) via www.cartaidentita.it. Once activated, open the CieID app to configure simplified access. The app offers multiple ways to authorize your access:

• QR Code Scanning: When accessing a service from your PC, simply scan the QR code displayed on the access request page using the CieID app. Enter the CieID app code that you created during the device certification process. If you have biometric authentication enabled, you can use it instead of the CieID app code for even quicker access! 🤳
• CieID Credentials with Push Notifications: Alternatively, you can enter your CieID username and password on the access request page. The app will then send a push notification to your smartphone. Accept the notification using your CieID app code or biometrics to complete the authorization. ✉️
• Smartphone Access: If you are accessing the online service directly from your smartphone, you can authenticate using your CieID credentials. Or, open the CieID app, enter your CieID app code, and use biometric recognition if it’s active on your device. 👍

High-Security Access with NFC:

For users with smartphones running Android 6.0 or later and equipped with NFC technology, CieID offers the highest level of security (level 3). After receiving your Electronic Identity Card, open the app and register your card. Enter your eight-digit PIN and hold the card close to the back of your smartphone when prompted. This method ensures top-notch security for your digital identity. 🛡️

PUK Recovery Functionality:

The CieID app also includes a PUK Recovery feature. This is especially useful for citizens who have an Electronic Identity Card and have associated either an email address or a mobile number with their digital identity. If you ever need to recover your PUK, the app provides a straightforward process to do so. 🔑
